Howto setup / add and configure my tuners and satellites
Seup your DVB S-C-T or S2 tuner(s)
Click here for the E1 Generic MenusSelect the tuner you have installed or want to use with this setup (you can have more than 1 tuner set up so make sure
you select the right one) with your arrows keys and the OK button on your remote control.

Once you have defined your tuner type (DVB-S2 example below) this setup up screen for your satellite(s)
will be shown. We will below go through the set up and give examples of the changes you may need to
make for the LNB settings in your part of the world.
There are 4 major settings here with up to 10 minor settings. This how to uses the Advanced mode, but you can
change this to make your life easier - simply press the right and left buttons over the Configuration Mode row.

Another example this time a move dish with diseqc 1.2 enabled

1. The first thing you need to do is define the satellite you are going to use. You can simply highlight the
Satellite row and press either your right or left arrows to change the satellite name. Please beware that
since the release of the Pli Jade software, all satellites are included in this option so you can set up
the satellite of your choice no matter where your are in the world.
A small word of warning for C/Ku band users of the same satellite: With the current set up of the
satellites.xml file you are UNABLE to select both the C & Ku band setup of the same satellite (unless
you do a manual edit of the satellites.xml file).
2. Voltage mode: If you have a fixed dish or move dish just plugged straight into your DM box
then you will leave this setting as it shows. For other setup you can change this;
- Polarization = Both vertical and horizontal poles are used
- 13v = Vertical pol only
- 18v = Horizontal pol only
3. Tone mode: If you have a fixed dish or move dish just plugged straight into your DM box
then you will leave this setting as it shows. For other setup's you can change this;
- Off = switch mode off (also used with multi-switches / multiple diseqc's)
- On = switch mode on (also used with multi-switches / multiple diseqc's)
Note: similar to the 22hz setting on an E1 box
4. LNB: This is the LNB to be used with the satellite you selected above, and will have all the associated
properties with that LNB below. Once you have set this up you can change the properties or simply change to another
LNB number with different properties.
4a. LNB: Diseqc mode This setting will set up your LNB to act in different ways and provide you
with a series of different screens. Here we will use the Diseqc setting of 1.1.
- None = 1 fixed satellite dish directly connected to your DM box
- 1.0 = 1 or more fixed satellites dish(s) directly connected to your DM box
- 1.1 = 1 or more fixed satellites dish(s) directly connected to your DM box
- 1.2 = A move dish of some sort i.e. HH move, prime focus move dish
A small word of warning for C/Ku band users of the same satellite: With the current set up of the
satellites.xml file you are UNABLE to select both the C & Ku band setup of the same satellite (unless
you do a manual edit of the satellites.xml file).
4b. LNB: Toneburst: this allows you to use a tone burst switch but in most cases will be left as shown above in the "None" mode
4c. LNB: Committed diseqc command: This is the diseqc port you have your selected satellite dish
plugged into. The options are
- AA - 1st connector
- AB - 2nd connector
- BA - 3rd connector
- BB - 4th connector
- Input 1 ......
4d. LNB: Fast diseqc: In most cases this is just set to the default setting - no
4e. LNB: Sequence repeat: In most cases this is just set to the default setting - no
4f. LNB: Command Order: In most cases this is just set to the default setting - committed, toneburst
4g. LNB: LOF Now this is an important one! This setting is asking for the details of your LNB.
the options are;
- Universal LNB = the same world over (09750 - 10600 - 11700)
- C-Band = the same world over (05150-05150-03200)
- User Defined = CHANGES in every country (normally a Ku Single or localized Ku Universal LNB)
Examples of User Defined LNB's
- USA LOF/L = 09750 - LOF/H = 11250 - Threshold = 11700
- Australia LOF/L = 10700 - LOF/H = 10700 - Threshold = 12000
- Asia LOF/L = 11300 - LOF/H = 11300 - Threshold = 12000
4g. LNB: Increased Voltage: in most cases left as the default - no.
TIP: to add more satellites, simply repeat the process above until you have added all the satellites you need/require.
TIP: once you have added all your satellites you will want to scan them, so click here to learn more ..
