How to setup my Softcam and CI
Make sure you download a softcam plugin to use
Simply use the arrow buttons on your remote to highlight the softcam you require and then press the OK button to select it.
OpenPLi: If you want to manually select or start softcams and cardservers, download the softcam setup plugin to make this item appear in the menu.
We do not talk about what Cam works with what network subscription card or card sharing on this wiki or website.

Known limitations:
Only 1 softcam can be selected at one time
Only 1 card server can be selected at one time
Set up steps
For E2 boxes only
Before we do anything we have to download a softcam to our DM box (click here to learn more about this). To do this we press the MENU|PLUGIN screen
as shown below and then we;

- Now press the Green button to download plugins.
- Now select the Softcam menu

- Now select the softcam plugin you require and press OK. It will then ask if you want to download it, select YES
- Your DM box will now go to console mode and download and automatically install the plugin.
- When it is complete it will go back to the plugins menu
- Press exit to go back to the main menu
- OpenPLi: If you install only one softcam, it will automatically be selected as the default softcam and started. No need to configure anything.
- Return to the softcam setup menu as shown above (top of the screen) to select and activate a softcam.
Howto add a Soft Cam manually
For E2 boxes only, not for OpenPLi
- FTP the appropriate files to your box and chmod the files
- Create an empty file with the same name as the Soft Cam, for example "pcam". Optionally, you can enter the version number of the softcam as text and save it
- Upload this file to /etc/plimgr/cams/
PLi Manager will now detect the new Soft Cam "pcam", if you entered a version number in your file it will be recognised as such
Choose the new Soft Cam in the Soft Cam Setup
Or via a Telnet session:
- FTP the appropriate files to your box and chmod the files
- Telnet to your box and type:
echo "1.9" > /etc/plimgr/cams/pcam
(in this example your softcam will be displayed as version 1.9)
This is an Enigma 2 or E2 menu
