Howto add/scan channels into my DM box

Click here for the E1 Generic MenusTip: only the satellites you have added under the Tuner configuration menu will be available to scan.
The Manual Scan option offers a number of powerful options depending on the type of E2 box you own.
Here you can
- Scan a single transponder (S-C-T)
- Scan a single Satellite (S-C-T) you have defined in the in the Tuner set up
- Scan many or multiple satellites (S-C-T)you have defined in the in the Tuner set up
Now lets look at these options one by one
A Single satellite scan
This is a great option for tuning / scanning a single satellite you might have just added to your
system. It will scan the satellite and automatically add the channels it finds to your DM box

Tuner: What you have defined in the in the Tuner set up
Type of scan: -as shown above- simply press your right/left arrows to change
Satellite: What you have defined in the in the Tuner set up - simply press your right/left arrows to change
Clear before scan: A good idea to press YES if this is not the first time you are scanning the satellite - simply press your right/left arrows to change
Now press the OK button to start the scan. Now go make a coffee as this can in some cases take a long time to complete.
Warning: pressing the exit key will exit the scan and save nothing!
A Single transponder scan
This is a great tool to add more transponders (one or more channels) to your DM box. Depending one
the type of set top box/ tuner you have, you can change this screen even more but we will explain
the basics as shown below.

Tuner: The tuner you have defined in the in the Tuner set up
Type of scan: -as shown above- simply press your right/left arrows to change
System: Depending on what you have defined in the in the Tuner set up there maybe other options i.e. DVB-S2 on a DM800. Simply press your right/left arrows to change
Satellite: What you have defined in the in the Tuner set up - simply press your right/left arrows to change
Frequency: the frequency of the transponder - you can see lists by satellite on one of these list sites Satcodx or on Lyngsat - simply use the left right arrows to change the position of the curser and the number keys on your remote control o change the numbers.
Inversion: normally left as automatic
Symbol Rate: the symbolic rate or SR - will be shown on one of these list sites next to the frequency Satcodx or on Lyngsat - simply use the left right arrows to change the position of the curser and the number keys on your remote control o change the numbers.
Polarity: This too will be shown on one of these list sites next to the frequency Satcodx or on Lyngsat - simply use the left right arrows to change the polarity
FEC: Most people set to automatic, but this too can be shown on one of these list sites next to the frequency Satcodx or on Lyngsat - simply use the left right arrows to change the forward error correction (FEC)
Network Scan: Also know as a NIT scan. Simply use the left right arrows to select yes or no
Now press the OK button to start the scan.

A Muliple satellite scan
You are able here to scan one or more of the satellites you have defined in the in the Tuner set up. This is a great way to make sure your DM box is up to date with all the latest channels.

Tuner: What you have defined in the in the Tuner set up
Type of scan: -as shown above- simply press your right/left arrows to change
Clear before scan: A good idea to press YES if this is not the first time you are scanning the satellite - simply press your right/left arrows to change
Satellite: What you have defined in the in the Tuner set up and will be listed as shown above in satellite location order. Now simply use the left right arrows to change the enable or disable automatic scan.
Now press the OK button to start the scan. Now go make a couple of coffees or browse the Pli Wiki as this can in some cases take a long time to complete.
