Howto debug my E1 DM box
System Settings
E1 Enigma 1 or E1 menus. Click here for the E2 E1 MenusTo quote the wiki "Debugging is a methodical process of finding and reducing the number of bugs, or defects, in a computer program or a piece of electronic hardware thus making it behave as expected. Debugging tends to be harder when various subsystems are tightly coupled, as changes in one may cause bugs to emerge in another."
The PLiĀ® development team have set up a service to help you debug your DM box in so many different ways as we will explain below.

What are these functions for?
- Log Emu Daemon to file: This option will log the actions of your softcam to help you set it up the way you want it
- Log Enigma to file: This options helps you troubleshoot any issues you may have
- Log Enigma to syslog: Sends all the Enigma logging to the system log or syslog
- Start syslog at boot: Enable this function to see what is happening throughout the boot process
- Enable serial logging: Works with a serial terminal on your computer (on a PC you can use Hyperterminal) so you see the debug information in realtime
- Remote host: enter the IP address of your debugging host (a PC, a Linux box or maybe another DM box)
- Log Path: as per the default is fine
